Death and Rebirth
And the Wheel Moves On...

The wheel of the year turns as we slide gently towards the longest night, that of the Winter Solstice. Here we momentarily pause, suspended in a liminal space between dark and light. This is a time to gather together, to huddle round a hearth and share stories. It is a time to honour the darkness without and within, to celebrate the changing of the seasons, and ultimately to turn our faces to the returning light with hope and anticipation.

Rachel Murray will be guiding you through the darkness with stories of death and rebirth, of darkness and light, despair and hope. Travel with her to frozen lands and firesides to find out who those shrouded figures are in the woods and just what to do if Death comes a-knocking. Rachel is a resident storyteller at Matlock Storytelling Cafe where she has been telling tales for many a long year. She has told stories all over the country, at firesides and fetes, in schools and saunas, on walks in wellies and even at a composting conference.

With music from brilliant local songwriter John Hardy
