Ladies and gentlemen meet fifteen-year old pop phenomenon Loick, coming to the Ice Arena this weekend...

Fifteen year-old singer and dancer Loick is coming to Summer Excess at the Ice Arena this weekend with the best afro we've seen in ages.

He aims to follow in the footsteps of McFly, Blazin Squad, Darius and Busted who have all found at past Summer Ice Arena shows. He is on this years bill alongside Daniel Bedingfield, Rooster and Lucie Silvas. We spoke to the cheeky young scamp about his visit to hood town...

What’s it like being a fifteen year old pop star?
It’s not so different from being a fourteen year old pop star! Only joking, though l don’t really consider myself as a pop star, yet…

How did you first get discovered?
I was asked to do a Big Brovaz video shoot, by the director of Beyonce’s Crazy in Love video.

Do you still go to school?
Yes l do.

What’s an average day for you?
Hectic! Today’s a good example. I had exams this morning, l’m on a train to Brighton to do a photo shoot this afternoon and then back to London to play a show this evening. Pheww!

Have you always wanted to be a recording artist?
Yes

Are you a fan of Justin Timberlake?
I do really like Justin, because he’s broken down a lot of barriers. Ever since he was in N-Sync he’s always been an inspiration to me, because he naturally comes across as the star of the show.

Have you ever been to the city of Nottingham before?
No, but l’m looking forward to it!

Any thoughts on our legendary local outlaw Robin Hood…?
He robbed from the rich and gave it away to the poor? I like his style..!

Who is the best music act in the charts at the moment?
Ludacris

Who is the worst?
Javine! Sorry, but she is!

If you get anyone in to do a track with you who would you choose?
Hmmm. Jagged Edge, Omarion, Usher, Pharell, Missy Elliot. There’s lots of people! Maybe do some more stuff with Jamelia…

What do you think to the other acts on the line-up with you at Summer Excess?
I don’t know everyone else who’s playing, but I’m really excited about playing alongside Craig David.

What do you do when you’re not being a pop star?
Hang out with my friends, ride my bike, chill out playing some Playstation.

Anything else you want to tell our readers?
Thanks for your time and l hope you come down and see me play.

Summer Excess is on at Nottingham Arena on 25 July 2005
