Every year the Sherwood community gets together to create a massive pile of art, and they’re inviting the greenies among you to get stuck in…
On top of all the exhibitions and workshops taking place during the week, there's going to be a Secret Garden Craft Fair, and you can find art throughout loads of shops. Then there's the Remarkable Recycling Gala – summat all you arty types can get stuck into.
2017’s Remarkable Recycling Gala will be taking place in the Ukranian Centre, after running every year since 2014 in Sherwood Community Centre. There’ve been some unexpected works to take place there this year, hence the change of location.
One thing that’s not changing, though, is how awesome this event is. And it couldn’t happen without the help of your lot. The Remarkable Recycling Gala all about highlighting the world’s waste problems through art, and every time the number of artists in the city applying grows.
The only way to do it is to make some recycled art, in the most creative way possible. So if you’ve got an idea for a piece or a workshop, get in touch with the team – whether you’re an artist, workshop leader, or performer, whose work is either recycled, upcycled, or related to the theme of recycling.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 28 February, and you can do so by visiting the Sherwood Art Week website
Sherwood Art Week takes place throughout Sherwood from Saturday 24 June - Sunday 2 July 2017

LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
