Music industry experts and the public have decided the six finalists for the Future Sound of Nottingham, taking place on Sunday 7 May. Hashtagobi, Roe Green, Brotherhood, The DandyLions, One Giant Causeway and Kelsey Shaw will perform in a showcase of new, Notts music, hoping to be crowned the winner. The experts will form a score, alongside the points collected from the audience vote, and will send one of the acts to open the Splendour main stage...
Ali Emm
Ali is the Editor of a little magazine called LeftLion… until a few moments ago, that is. She’s now moved to Reuters; just, you know, one of the biggest news organisations in the world. She ain’t som evil news dictator though, she’s actually a lovely, well-connected human who proper loves local music.
Anton Lockwood
Anton is DHP’s Promotions Director, booking acts as big as The White Stripes, The Strokes and The Libertines. Anton is also one of the central organisers of Dot to Dot Festival and, of course, Splendour Festival.
Craig Chettle
Craig is the Chair of Notts TV and the founder and Managing Director of Confetti Media Group. He’s seen pretty much every side of the music industry, having worked as a sound engineer and tour manager, and working with acts including Tinder Sticks and Lawnmower Death.
Dom Gourlay
One of Drowned in Sound’s longest running journalists, Dom has covered some of the biggest bands in the world for one of the most read music websites in the world, DiS. If this man falls in love with your music, you’re going to get yourself some major coverage.

The boss of Rock City. Nuff said.
Jackie P
The only breakfast DJ on FM in Nottingham with the freedom to play Nottingham music whenever she wants. A presenter on 97.5 Kemet FM, she loves supporting new Notts artists from all genres. Jackie has kindly agreed to be our chair of judges, which means she will oversee all rounds and the counting of scores on the night.
Simon Wilson
The What’s On Editor for the Nottingham Post. And the man who can get you on the cover of EG. He’s interviewed practically every star to ever grace the stage in Nottingham. Yup, he’s bezzies with everyone from Beyonce to Dolly Parton.
Verity Cowley
Drive Time DJ for BBC Radio Nottingham, on the radio six times a week. She’s got a big love for local music, having previously worked for BBC Introducing. If she likes your music, she can get you a play, sandwiched between Take That and Ed Sheeran.
