Splendour celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, and what better way to celebrate than by pulling in one of the UK’s biggest singer-songwriters?
For the uninitiated, every year in Nottingham Wollaton Park gets taken over by artists from near and far in a one-day festival. With everything from outdoor theatre to the city’s best up-and-coming musicians on the roster, it’s well worth bagging a ticket for.
This year, Notts is lucky enough to have the household name Paloma Faith hitting the bill, so we can expect to hear tunes from albums like Fall to Grace and A Perfect Contradiction echoing around the lands, gerrin’ the deer boogying like there’s no tomoz.
Paloma said: “I'm really looking forward to performing at Splendour and being part of its tenth anniversary celebrations!”
Splendour is run by DHP, the same company that runs Rock City, Stealth, Rescue Rooms and The Bodega. Owner of DHP George Akins said: “Paloma is huge name on the British music scene with three double platinum albums under her belt; Adele is the only other British female to do that! She’s the perfect choice to mark the tenth anniversary of Splendour. It’s going to be epic!”
With the Kaiser Chiefs headlining last year’s festival, all tickets sold out in the end. So if you want an earful of our Pal this year, you better get moving sharpish.
Splendour 2018 takes place on Wollaton Park on Saturday 21 July. Kids under 11 go free, and a standard ticket is £49. If you’re a Nottingham resident, a standard ticket is £39, and if you’re a Nottingham resident aged 11-17, tickets are £20. Get tickets by visiting the Splendour website

LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
