With plenty of local acts taking to the stage, you don't wanna miss out...

Splendour is a big deal in Nottingham. The annual festival at Wollaton Park is a family favourite, and the main stage has been graced by some UK legends including the Pet Shop Boys, Kaiser Chiefs, The Specials, Jake Bugg and Kate Nash.

Headlining the bill for its 10th anniversary is Paloma Faith - one of the most successful British female artists of the last decade, and she’s in formidable company as Indie rockers The Charlatans are still achieving fresh career highs almost three decades since bagging their first number one album. They played the main stage in 2008, and are returning this year for the celebrations. Alongside them are an assortment of 80’s and 90’s stars, like Marc Almond (Soft Cell) and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, as well as a local pair of future stars, Ady Suleiman and Nina Smith, each on the verge of blowing up.

Making a return is Gem 106’s extremely popular Weekend Anthems silent disco as well as local fringe talent and a laugh out loud lineup on the Comedy Stage adds to the festival vibe. Like we said, Splendour is a favourite of the whole family as kids under 11 get free entry, and to cater for the sprogs they've got a free kids' area with hands-on activities and entertainment taking place throughout the day.
