We grabbed a few words with Louis Croft ahead of the Future Sound of Nottingham final at Rock City on Monday 1 July...
How would you describe your music?
A mix of different genres and influences.
What was your reaction to the news you’d be playing the FSN final?
I was really pleased. It took a lot of hard work to get the votes so I was pleased it paid off.
What can the City crowd expect from your performance?
Something different to the usual bands.
Why did you enter FSN?
I won Noise of the Next Generation so I automatically got through to the semi-final. I was going to enter it anyway so I was pleased when I found out I got into the semis.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
Jake Bugg, Oasis, and The Beatles.
What Nottingham artists are you loving at the minute?
There's not really anyone who I've seen that I like. Not to say that there isn't, I just haven't found them yet! A lot of what I listen to is older music.
What are your biggest non-musical influences?
My dad (Richard) who's a legend!
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
Releasing my second EP with Phlexx Records and winning Noise of the Next Generation.
Any last words for LeftLion?
Nice one lads!

We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
