We grabbed a few words with Wolf Club ahead of the Future Sound of Nottingham final at Rock City on Monday 1 July...
How would you describe your music?
Pop, dance, rock, synthwave, electro, eighties, electronica.
What was your reaction to the news you’d be playing the FSN final?
We were, and still are, ecstatic about reaching the final! Playing the Rock City main stage has been a dream of ours since we were eighteen years old. I've seen my favorite ever bands play on that stage so it's a huge honor.
What can the City crowd expect from your performance?
Synths, guitars, bass. Vocals, drums, heavy beats. Euphoric, synth-pop sounds.
Why did you enter FSN?
With the hope of playing with some of the best Nottingham has to offer, and being in with a chance of playing Rock City and maybe beyond.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
Daft Punk, Chvrches, The Midnight, Timecop1983, FM-84, College, M83, eighties power ballads, indie, grunge and emo-rock from the nineties.
Playing the Rock City main stage has been a dream of ours since we were eighteen years old.
What Nottingham artists are you loving at the minute?
Camille Christel. My current favourite vocalist. Not just in terms of Nottingham but from anywhere.
What are your biggest non-musical influences?
Neon lights, cityscapes, skylines, late-night drives, denim, leather jackets, pizza.
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
Being featured on Channel 4 a few times. Hearing your songs coming from a television screen is hard to beat.
Any last words for LeftLion?
Thanks for all you do to promote everything culture-wise in Nottingham. Keep up the great work.

We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
