Building on the success of the ever-popular annual Light Night event in February, the Creative Quarter will mark the brightest day of the year with Nottingham’s first ever Lightest Night...
The city-wide celebration will include a garden party hosted on the grounds of St Mary’s Church on Friday 21 June, to properly celebrate the summer solstice. There’ll be food, drink and live musical entertainment for your lot to enjoy. Bildburn, based in nearby St Mary’s school, and Castle Rock Brewery, whose Kean’s Head public house is next to the church, will be on hand to offer a drink or two.
The celebration will see events take place across Nottingham with the hope that venues around the city will stay open later, making the most of the seventeen hours of sunshine. After 8pm, the fun will continue down in Sneinton Market, where Nottingham Street Food Club will be in residence, serving up grub ‘til late.
The CQ hope the event will provide the opportunity for locals to meet and mingle with the business community of the Lace Market and Hockley.
The Lightest Night takes place on Friday 21 June from 5pm onwards.
We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
