Event: Nottingham Craft Beer Festival
Fancy sticking two fingers up to the rain and making a weekend of it? Head down to the Nottingham Craft Beer Festival. Running on Friday 14 – Saturday 15 June, tickets are only a tenner and there's tonnes of Nottingham breweries, and some from further afield. My preferred drinking establishment so far is Neon Raptor, but that's mainly because their logo is a Venn diagram of my two favourite things - comedy dinosaurs and neon signs.

Notts-based Blogger: Lucy and Lentils
As one of Britain’s top vegan bloggers, Lucy needs no introduction. Her recipes are universally yummy, no matter what foodie group you identify as, and don't just take my word for it - this month sees her up against bloggers from across the country as a finalist vying for Best Vegan & Plant-based Blog at the Health Blog Awards 2019. Head to her stories for more info on how to vote!

But leave your standard order at the door - there's a whole host of magical brews out there. Plus, keep an eye out for them at all the main festivals this summer. (Oh, and mine's a Gingerbread Chai if you're asking.)
New Discovery: Homeboys
Look, I know that Homeboys aren't exactly a new discovery per se, but I'm a little late to the game. Haters don't @ me. However, I popped to Nottingham Street Food Club after work last week and it was ruddy delicious; I had the aubergine and sweet potato katsu curry and I'm still having dreams about it now. How many days in a row is it acceptable for one to eat katsu curry? Asking for a friend...

We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
