Do Nothing
Notts rising stars Do Nothing serve up a solid gold concoction of post-punk art rock, their sound drenched with an interstellar quality that has recently earnt them accolades from BBC Radio One tastemaker Jack Saunders for their thrilling latest single Gangs, and a massive support slot for Interpol in Moscow last month. Catch them while you can at Waterfront Fest - these boys are destined for big things.
Reflekter
Swaggering riffs ignite vocalist James Gooch’s nostalgic vocals in the output of four-piece Reflekter. Having risen from the ashes of Same Streets, they are forging a melodic and occasionally psychedelic path for themselves. With a string of releases under their belts this year, including the particularly bangin’ single Caught In A Storm, we’re champing at the bit to catch their Waterfront set.
Tash Bird
Captivating vocals and vibrant melodies are blended with real style in the hands of Notts singer-songwriter Tash Bird. With a delightfully unique voice and equally ambitious take on writing tunes, Tash radiates warmth and soul, her songs full of conviction and character. With a background in teaching singing and songwriting in Notts, make time for experiencing this gal’s star quality on stage at this year’s Waterfront Fest.
TV Crime
Guaranteed to make you have a proper boogie, and with the potential to make you consider donning a mullet, Notts rock ‘n’ roll band TV Crime bring us post-punk-twinged bangers in exactly the raucous way you’d want them packaged. These guys are a frenetic and downright fun live act, with a sound slightly reminiscent of Buzzcocks, but refreshed for 2019. Unmissable with a capital U.
Witch of the East
“Even Marilyn Manson has a monster under his bed. Witch of the East is that monster” reads this fascinating act’s artist bio. With an imminent solo album entitled Queen of Insecurity on the cards, and some seriously spooky music videos doing the rounds, ex-Chambers musician Aeris Houlihan is pushing out a brand of tantalising dark pop that is theatrical, terrifying and totally strange. This is one Waterfront Fest set with the potential to go down in Notts histreh.
