Are you an avid dance fan? Do you have a passion for writing and reviewing live events? Great. Check this out…

Dance4 are offering the opportunity for one of your lot to review the international choreographic festival, Nottdance 2019.

The festival will see 28 artists and companies descen on multiple venues across the city for a variety of dance events and performances. From shows at Dance4’s international Centre for Choreography (iC4C) to performances at Nottingham Contemporary, you will have the chance to attend the lot of ‘em, and have your say on the action.

As part of the package, you will receive two free tickets to all events at Nottdance 2019 and earn exclusive behind-the-scenes access at the events. Not only this, but you will get a further two free tickets to Dance4’s public events at iC4C for one year.

Your writing and reviews will be promoted by us here at LeftLion, and the final reviews you produce will also be published on Dance4’s website and Nottdance.com, attaining both a national and international reach for your work. And let’s not forget – you will also gain the satisfaction of having written and reviewed events at a high-profile international festival.

To be in with a shot of following this exciting festival, you must be eighteen or over and be up for the job at hand. You need to be free to attend all the events between the 9-12 October (don’t worry, the schedule will be agreed in advance with Dance4).

It’s also important you have a real interest in both dance and writing, and have some sorta previous experience in reviewing, writing about or discussing live performances. As part of the application process, you’ll be asked to provide your writing credentials by submitting a piece of writing reviewing something you have recently attended – be it a performance, film or some other form of visual art, or by providing a link to an existing review.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this great opportunity:

Applications close at 12pm on Friday 20 September 2019. Good luck!

Nottdance 2019 takes place across the city from Wednesday 9 – Saturday 12 October.

We have a favour to ask

LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
