The award-winning documentary about Nottingham-born AC Milan founder Herbert Kilpin. Available on download and DVD...
Herbert Kilpin was the founder of AC Milan FC, one of the world's biggest football clubs. For many years his story was forgotten. This documentary, made by us at LeftLion, uncovers new information and helps bring his memory back to life.
The film features interviews with:
- ex-Milan players Daniele Massaro, Mark Hateley, Luther Blissett and Giovanni Lodetti
- authors Robert Nieri (The Lord of Milan) and John Foot (Calcio)
- historians and Milan fans Luigi La Rocca, Enrico Tosi and Pierangelo Brivio
- AC Milan representatives Marco Amato (Casa Milan) and Germano Lanzoni (San Siro Announcer)
The documentary won two awards at the Olympic-accredited FICTS Film Festival in November 2017. Since then it has toured cinemas across the UK, Italy and China. It is now available to buy on Region Free DVD (£12 + Postage) and £8 online.

We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
