Paints, pencils and pens at the ready folks...
Got an arty party waiting to burst out of you? Luckily the New Art Exchange Open is back, and is ready for artists to apply to exhibit their work.
The project is open to all artists living in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, and also to artists of culturally diverse heritage and those exploring diversity within their practice living anywhere in the UK. Just make sure anything being entered has been produced in the past 3 years – they don’t want any dusty prints!
Once applications to exhibit have been submitted, a panel of judges will whittle down a shortlist of what they think are the most innovative and accomplished works.
One of the keys aims of the project is to create a platform that supports the development of artists and raises their profile. So, the exhibition itself will launch on Friday 3 July where a number of prizes will be awarded, including cash prizes and a range of professional development opportunities. Clearly, you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain by entering.
The application portal will open on Friday 14 February with full details. Make sure to join their mailing list, set up your calendar reminders, and start working on your pieces – they can’t wait to see what you’ve got.
We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
