Local writer Panya Banjoko and Engagement Curator Bo Olawoye are working together with The Renewal Trust to build a newspaper rammed with stories, photos and art work – all about St. Ann’s…
Have you spent time in St. Ann’s? Got a story, poem, article, drawing or photo?
Panya Banjoko – the writer, performance poet and storyteller – and local Engagement Curator Bo Olawoye are putting together a one-off publication about the St. Ann’s area of Nottingham and they need a hand from the community.
As part of the project by The Renewal Trust, the newspaper will be available for free in March 2020 after a series of creative writing workshops ran by Panya, and contributions from you lot. The whole thing aims to celebrate the local area – so get stuck in to some scribbling, have a rummage around in your drawers, or get out there and take some snaps of your favourite spots.
You’ve got until 5pm on Monday 24 February to send along your St. Ann’s memories – in whatever creative form they might take.
Email them along to boprojects70@gmail.com or call The Renewal Trust on 0115 911 2226 to find out more, and to be part of a proper community-focused project.
We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
