Local collective Sugar Stealers have announced a month of free online workshops designed to offer support, community and inspiration after research suggested that women’s mental health had been particularly impacted by the pandemic.

Funded by the national lottery community fund, sessions include meditation and yoga, creative and spiritual inspiration, bee-keeping, growing small businesses, personal development and more. Running from Monday 15 March to Saturday 10 April, particular highlights include weekly all-body boxing workouts from She Strikes which aims to harness your inner power, plus a Bedroom Boogie on Friday 2 April with professional West End performer Molly-May Gardiner, designed to get you moving spontaneously and release any unwanted emotions. They’ll also be bringing the month to a close with a Zoom Soul Sister party.

Tricia says: “The whole pandemic has been tough on women, whether isolated at home as a new mum, caring for older family members or juggling work and homeschooling. We have designed these free workshops led by inspirational women to help support women everywhere through these last few months.”

We have a favour to ask

LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
