The series of outdoor events is taking place throughout the summer, and there's a bit of something for everyone...
Arboretum Sunsets, a series of intimate outdoor events taking place throughout the summer, is now in full swing - featuring a whole host of comedians, musicians and festivals for the fine people of Nottingham to enjoy.
Created by the inventive minds behind Splendour Festival, these events are hosted in, you guessed it, the Arboretum, which provides a stunning backdrop for the engaging entertainment onstage.
So far, audiences have already been treated to a wide range of exciting musical acts, covering everything from chilled out tunes to head-bopping numbers.
Legendary local band Ferocious Dog brought their trademark folk punk sound to the stage on 26 June, showcasing the best of their extensive catalogue of classics, and Turin Brakes slowed things down with a serene acoustic performance six days later.
In between, New Model Army’s Justin Sullivan wowed audiences with his trademark mix of powerful lyricism and absorbing rhythms.
Arboretum Sunsets is only just getting started, though, with another couple of months of top quality entertainment planned for the coming weeks.
On the comedy front, Just the Tonic are guaranteed to bring the laughs with their Comedy Shindig on Sunday 8 August, with a collection of the funniest folks around aiming to lift people’s spirits after a challenging year.
And music fans are almost spoiled for choice, with a ton of exciting acts from across the generations lining up to take to the stage.
Veterans of the industry Tony Hadley and Richard Thompson are set to perform on Sunday 18 July and Friday 13 August respectively, giving audiences the chance to experience their iconic tunes like never before.
While unique indie acts Kawala and This is the Kit will show just why they’re some of the most impressive artists on the alternative scene when they step to the mic on Friday 27 August and Sunday 5 September.
With cider festivals, Sweaty Betty fitness classes and street food socials also thrown into the mix, you’re bound to something Arborete up your street this summer…
