The first ever Framework Film Festival will be held at Nottingham Contemporary next month, and will celebrate twenty years of the charity’s work supporting homeless and vulnerable people in the East Midlands.

Screening the premieres of four documentaries by Nottingham-based Lock Up Films on Monday 11 October, the festival will tell a range of very personal and contrasting stories of courage, determination and hope.

Throughout the night, attendees will learn about the inspirational lives of Reuben and his childhood in foster care, Michael and his struggle with multiple family bereavements, Mark and his path to overcome addiction and Rola, Emad and their family, who escaped some of the most savage bombing of the Syrian civil war to establish a new life in Nottinghamshire.

As well as these powerful screenings, guests can socialise over welcome drinks, try out some delicious canapés and network with other like-minded people from across the county.

Doors open at 6pm and the stars of each film will be in attendance, as will Framework staff and other supporters of the charity. The event is free of charge but seat availability is expected to be very limited, so early booking is recommended.

For those wishing to donate to the charity, which works with 18,000 people each year across the East Midlands and South Yorkshire, online donations are very much welcome.
