The popular aerial adventure is coming to Lakeside Arts on 31 October...
The Gramophones Theatre Company are bringing Tarzanna, a lighthearted yet powerful jungle aerial adventure, to their home city later this month.
On Sunday 31 October, the Nottingham-based group will swing by Lakeside Arts to wow audiences with their acrobatic brilliance, original music and playful storytelling.
Following Anna, who is magically transported to the rainforest and discovers wonders she’s never seen before, the family-friendly show invites children to think differently about the role of girls and their power and potential to change the world.
Hannah Stone, Co-Artistic Director of The Gramophones, said: “We are so used to seeing role models that were princesses in towers waiting to be rescued, always the second string to a male protagonist. We thought how refreshing it would be to have a female hero who is physically strong and has to save everyone else!”
Tarzanna is non-verbal, making it suitable for D/deaf audiences and those who do not speak English, and has received high praise from theatregoers across the country.
This show brings a twelve-leg tour from The Gramophones to a close, with the popular act offering their trademark blend of playful energy and honest storytelling to venues from Cambridge to Lancaster.
Tickets to Tarzanna are now available to buy from the Lakeside Arts website.
We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
