A Notts documentary diving into the tense political landscape in Mansfield will premiere at Broadway Cinema next month.

Redt’Blue, directed by Jay Martin, examines the reasons behind the town’s decision to vote Conservative in the 2017 General Election - after decades of Labour support.

The film’s cast and crew will join viewers for the event on Saturday 26 February, with Jay providing an introduction to the documentary for audiences.

Before the screening, the cinema will also showcase some of the most impressive cinematic talent Nottinghamshire has to offer, with a range of short films, music videos and documentaries on display.

Once the showing finishes, guests will have the opportunity to join the director and his team in a nearby bar and ask questions about the film.

Redt’Blue has already picked up five ‘Best Documentary’ awards from its run on the festival circuit, making it one of Notts’ most successful releases in recent years.

Most importantly, though, it was given the LeftLion seal of approval by legendary film critic, um, me, when I reviewed the film a while back. If that hasn't convinced you to check this out on the big screen, I don't know what will...

You can grab your ticket to the Redt’Blue premiere on Eventbrite from Wednesday 26 January
