Confetti’s Industry Week will return next week with a hybrid event, with in-person sessions returning for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

Across five days of talks, Q&As and activities, students at the Institute of Creative Technologies will get the chance to hear from leading figures in the fields of music, gaming and cinema.

Brit award winner Becky Hill will be joined by her manager, Alex Martin, to discuss her meteoric rise and their experience of the music industry, and Grammy winner William Orbit will take to the stage at Metronome to discuss his role as a pioneer in contemporary pop.

Gaming experts include technical director JD Wu, who has worked on the much-loved League of Legends World Championship, as well as representatives from giant studios including EA Games, Free Radical and Sumo Digital.

And in film and television, Victor Perez - whose credits include Rogue One and The Dark Knight Rises - will provide insight into the world of visual effects, and Nottingham-based documentary filmmaker Jeanie Finlay will once again offer her expertise.

Outside of media, Nottingham East MP - and LeftLion columnist - Nadia Whittome will also join students to discuss the importance of inclusivity and opportunity.

This busy week marks sixteen years of Confetti Industry Week, with previous guests including superstars ranging from Vicky McClure to Rudimental.

The Institute's Chief Executive, Craig Chettle MBE, believes the event provides one of the most exciting and valuable teaching experiences students can have: "Our philosophy is Do it For Real, and Industry Week offers our students an unrivalled chance to meet those working at the top of their game.

"We are thrilled to be able to resume in-person events alongside an online streaming programme that means we can continue to present the most relevant and inspiring industry guests from around the world."

Confetti’s Industry Week runs from Monday 7 to Friday Friday 11 March. You can find a full line-up of guests on their website
