Running from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 March, the event will pair films with performance, music, technology and art...
A brand new film festival is coming to Nottingham this month, with events taking over venues across the city.
The Light After Dark Film Festival is “dedicated to immersive experiences in cinema”, and is being delivered by local arts institutions including Nottingham Contemporary, Broadway Cinema and Nottingham Playhouse.
Across three packed days of entertainment, the Festival will pair films with performance, music, technology and art to provide a completely unique cinematic experience for Notts cinephiles.
Highlights from the weekend include a Broadway screening of the Fritz Lang classic Metropolis with a live score from Notts band 8mm Orchestra and a VR film noir experience at the Playhouse, as well as a roundtable at the University of Nottingham on cinema’s role as a medium for articulating dreams.
This marks yet another exciting addition to Nottingham’s bustling Screen scene, joining the likes of the Nottingham International Film Festival and Mayhem on the city's festival circuit.
The event is being supported by the BFI Film Audience Network, and tickets to individual events are now available on the Light After Dark website.
We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
