Do you know when you recognise talent the moment you hear a single chord or word? That is what happens when The Big Moon enters the room and starts to perform. They are catchy, engaging and absolutely brilliant.

Until a month ago, I wasn't familiar with the band. I met someone who told me about these strangers after he went to their concert in Sheffield. He was telling me how ‘awesome’ it was, and how I should listen to them.

The next moment, I was listening to them and buying tickets for their gig in Nottingham; they weren’t strangers to me anymore. I remember it like it was yesterday, as soon as they started singing, I realised something: that’s what love feels like. The feeling of not being able to stop smiling, of all the words in the lyrics making sense and reaching you.

They are one of those bands that make you feel at home, that don’t put a barrier between themselves and their fans

Their interactions with the crowd at Rough Trade went from talking about spicy noodles, to thanking the public for all the support. Overall, their performance was easily a 10/10. They are one of those bands that make you feel at home, that don’t put a barrier between themselves and their fans. The stage is the only higher level, and besides that, we were all chatting and talking like equals.

They played both their greatest, most well-known hits, and new songs from their most recent album Here is Everything, released on October 14, just two days before the concert. There was a moment during the concert - plenty of moments, to be completely honest with you - that I was thinking to myself how important music is for me, how this is something that makes me feel passionate about life and people.

Not just any music, but good music; music that reaches one's soul and heart and awakens the feeling of being alive, activating a feeling of nostalgia. The Big Moon gave me that. For one hour I felt all of that, and then I walked home smiling, singing and telling everyone how much I loved the experience of seeing them live.

They played both their greatest, most well-known hits, and new songs from their most recent album Here is Everything

So, if you’re ever wondering if you should listen to them or even better, see them live - yes, you should. One thing is for sure, you will not regret it. I can’t leave you without mentioning that there was signing by the end of their set, where you could go there for a picture, get their signatures or simply exchange the warmest smiles possible.

In one word, breath-taking.
