Inhaler bring their new album Cuts & Bruises to Rock City...
“Nottingham you know how to put on a party!” Elijah Hewson screamed at the roaring crowd that filled Rock City. With the venue bursting at the seams and buzzing with energy, Inhaler’s performance did not disappoint.
After a short-lived support set from FEET, the band from Dublin opened with These Are the Days, from their new album Cuts & Bruises which was released just a week ago.
Their stage presence was felt immediately, and the crowd’s energy was unreal from the start – people on each other’s shoulders and pints spewing across the audience created the classic rock show feel that we all know and love.
The band wasted no time in getting to one of their most popular songs My Honest Face, where Hewson’s vocals carried the song. They rolled through their discography swiftly, giving us a mixture of songs from both their new release and their debut; at one point, Keating said, “Okay enough of this, back to the old ones!”
Love Will Get You There had echoes of Sam Fender’s more indie-pop sound, which broke up the more rock-inspired tracks nicely. The band stayed true to their Irish roots playing Dublin In Ecstasy, while Irish flags were held up by the crowd.
Inhaler proved themselves deserving of their success, and they will continue to support Arctic Monkeys on their tour later this year. If you can look past their nepotism roots and focus on their undeniable talent, you will not be disappointed.
