Running twice monthly, the timeless genres of folk and piano are at the heart of Metronome's music sessions. Kristi Genovese, Metronome’s in-house promoter, explains "The folk and piano sessions were born out of a desire to put on a regular night, bringing together the best musicians from around the world in intimate settings, which the artists love as it gives them a chance to get up close with their fans."

Inviting the audience to a regular event series, it’s a chance to broaden your tastes and experience new works within the genre. The folk sessions take place in the last week of every month and so far Metronome have welcomed Rachael Dadd, Siv Jakobsen, Loris and the Lion, Brothers Gillespie, Rowan Rheinghans to name a few.

Furthermore, on Wednesday 22 February they will welcome Mikey Kenney and Germa Adan with local support from The Girl and the Stone. Not limited to traditional aspects of folk music, you can also expect experimental artists who combine urban song writing, a growing collection of instruments and rich vocals to create distinctive performances.

Or, if you’re not into folk music, Metronome are also running piano sessions which take place on the first week of every month -  launched by artist Federico Albanese. The sessions would not be so spectacular without their beautiful Steinway grand piano which is a key ingredient to the upcoming performers. Expect Grammy award winning Susanna on 3 March, as well as Carlos Cipa on 5 April. With each artist providing their own take on the instrument, none of these shows are ones to miss.
