DJs, drag acts and musicians are all joining in the birthday festivities...
Can you believe it? Rescue Rooms is officially too old to date Leonardo DiCaprio! We jest of course, but the city’s beloved intimate venue is celebrating its twentieth anniversary - and is doing so in style, announcing a ton of exciting events to get people in the party spirit.
Treating music fans to everything from DJ sets to the most alternative of alternative acts, this is a proper birthday bash - spanning the entire week from Monday 20 to Sunday 26 February.
The celebrations kick off with an Acoustic Rooms session featuring very special - but currently secret - guests, and round out with the return of Panchiko, the Nottingham band with perhaps the most interesting history of all Nottingham bands (check out Fiona Carr’s deep-dive into their story if you want to find out more).
Other events throughout the week include a Catnip Cabaret from local drag leader Kitty Tray on Thursday 23, and another round of Bama Lama Sing Song on Friday 24, giving budding musicians - and utterly talentless singers - a chance to belt out some banging tunes with the help of a range of live acts.
Some gigs - including Frank Turner’s show with Guise, Tom Jenkins and Hannah Rose Platt - have already sold out, so keep your eyes peeled and grab your tickets as soon as you can.

We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
