It’s not every week you get Faithless’ Producer/DJ mastermind Sister Bliss, The Crown Editor extraordinaire Richard Graham and The Smiths’ Andy Rourke in the building. That’s the sort of treat that can only mean one thing - it’s Confetti Industry Week. We give the lowdown on what Confetti students can look forward to...
Confetti and its mothership institution Nottingham Trent University have a well-deserved reputation as being well connected amongst local industries. Confetti students can often be spotted out and about learning their craft in the city, whether it be sound teching at festivals, operating fancy lights in clubs, or presenting on Notts TV. The last three LeftLion Editors have all graduated from either Confetti or NTU, so it goes without saying that they produce some pretty exceptional talent.
But it’s not every week you get Faithless’ Producer/DJ mastermind Sister Bliss, The Crown Editor extraordinaire Richard Graham and The Smiths’ Andy Rourke in the building. That’s the sort of guest list that can only mean one thing - it’s Confetti Industry Week.
Now in its 17th year, Industry Week runs from Monday 6 March to Friday 10 March and will see a celebration of International Women’s Day, the return of Confetti alumni now successfully working in the industry, and a live competitive gaming tournament in Confetti’s new £5million esports complex, Confetti X.
Chief Executive, Craig Chettle MBE, explains “every year since 2006, we’ve worked hard to bring leading figures from the creative and entertainment industries together for Industry Week, and the line-up just keeps getting better and better! The incredible insights and opportunities our students get into real careers help make Confetti such an attractive place to study”.
Here’s our rundown of what Confetti students can expect…
