Ahead of the Future Sound of Nottingham showcase on 2 July, we're going to be catching up with each finalist to find out more about them. Next up is EM...
How would you describe your music?
Catchy catchy catchy EDM pop with fast vocals and raw emotion at its core.
What was your reaction to the news you’d be playing the FSN final?
I cried in Sainsbury’s - in the bread aisle!
What can the Rock City crowd expect from your performance?
EDM pop with a classical twist… I’ll be performing three tracks, written and produced by me, with live looping, speedy vocals and a cheeky bit of strings. Get ready to float off into a dream rave.
Why did you enter FSN?
I think it’s a really great platform provided by Nusic that creates an opportunity for artists trying to get to the next stage of their careers. I’m so excited to see everyone play and see what this event does for them all. And who wouldn’t want to play Rock City?
Who are your biggest musical influences?
Troye Sivan, Fox Stevenson, Years and Years, Owl City, Grimes, and Billie Eillish.
What Nottingham artists are you loving at the minute?
Myself... joking! Omari Marsalis always brings it live and Sen Olette (the rebranding of eam) is just a phenomenal artist.
What are your biggest non-musical influences?
My mum, my dad and Lewis Hamilton. TV shows and books inspire me to write too; anything with strong emotion normally sets me off because I am unstable.
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
Playing Y Not festival to a packed tent – and hearing Tom Platts play his guitar solo live.
