How would you describe your music?
I’d say it’s alt-pop, but I wouldn’t say I have a particular genre as alt-pop is so broad. I love that I can be as creative as I want, yet still be an alt-pop artist. I try to combine catchy choruses and melodies commonly found in pop music with the introspective lyrics and instrumentation of alternative genres.

What was your reaction to the news you’d be playing the FSN final?
I wish I could tell you I was cool, calm and collected but to be honest the moment I found out I was jumping around the kitchen with my family. It's a dream come true, and I can't wait to give my best performance and share the music I’ve worked so hard on at the FSN final.

What can the Rock City crowd expect from your performance?
The crowd can expect a hard-hitting performance from me as I am set to rock out with a live band. I’ve never played with a band before, but my first time is going to be really special as the band is made up of two of my good friends, on guitar and bass, and my stepdad on drums. While my music is primarily alt-pop, I am pushing the boundaries of my music to deliver an unforgettable experience.

Why did you enter FSN?
I saw it as an awesome opportunity to connect with fellow musicians and industry professionals and showcase my music. I know the FSN competition has a reputation for discovering exceptional artists, and I hoped I could be a part of it.

Who are your biggest musical influences?
I draw inspiration from a wide range of musical influences, from Alexander 23 and Jeremy Zucker to Tom Petty and The Beatles. Additionally, I am continually exploring and discovering new artists across genres, as I believe that embracing diverse musical influences helps me to continually evolve and push the boundaries of my music.

What Nottingham artists are you loving at the minute?
The Nottingham music scene is so vibrant and full of exceptional talent. Currently, I am really loving EM, a fellow FSN finalist, and Hex.

What are your biggest non-musical influences?
I know it’s a cliche, but my family inspire me the most, as I wouldn’t be doing what I love without their support. Special shoutout to my mum, who has been there through the highs and lows and still gets just as excited for every new song and milestone as when I started this journey.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
One of the major highlights of my career so far was having my music featured on BBC Radio 1. It was an incredible milestone and a dream come true for me as an artist. I will always remember it as a pivotal moment, which is a reminder of all the support I’ve had to get here.

Any last words for LeftLion?
Thanks for taking the time to ask me questions about the FSN final. I’m very excited to bring my music to Rock City on 2 July, I can’t wait to see you there.
