Electronic music producer Halina Rice transports the crowd at Rescue Rooms to a VR inspired soundscape. Her work emerges at the intersection of art and technology, immersing her listeners within her very own trippy, hyper-real dimension...

Nottingham Contemporary vs Brickworks. That’s the best Notts way of describing Thursday nights transformation of Rescue Rooms into the "part rave, part art-happening" of Halina Rice’s shows.

Electronica producer and AV artist Halina Rice brought her stunning and spectacular live show to Rescue Rooms as part of a select run of dates in London, Nottingham, Edinburgh and ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) to launch her new release New Basis EP out on 29 September.

A homecoming gig for Halina who grew up in Nottingham, buying her first album in Selectadisc, a stone’s throw from tonight’s venue.

The show gives the sense of the exacting nature of an artist with a classically trained piano background. Halina live programming audio and visuals, bringing together contemporary elements of art, music, technology, lighting, and bass into a whole and immersive experience.

The sold-out Rescue Rooms crowd taken on an hour-long IDM journey. From downtempo, ambient Spheres, chugging Elision, trance of Terrain and new track Reciprocity from the New Basis EP.

The visuals created by an international team of designers and technologists, are emotive and stunning, check out Louisa Mae Tomson’s brilliant photos from the gig. Pretty sure Notts’ insta feed will be packed out this week with glimpses of this incredible show.

Back on tour in Spring 2024. Halina Rice’s shows a treat for the senses - something for your mind, your body and your soul.

Halina Rice’s new New Basis EP is out now. She performed at Rescue Rooms on 12 October 2023.
