Bonestrider and Silent Confidant opened for Death Warmed Up in the Old Salutation Inn’s legendary Attic...
Even though I unfortunately couldn't stick around to see Death Warmed Up later on in the evening due to other commitments, these two bands gave an opening the Sal will never forget.
Bonestrider were first and they proved to me once again that they’re a band are worthy of fame; bringing their interesting and hard-hitting sound they label as ‘Doom Metal’, to the audience who definitely loved what they heard with heads bopping along and lots of dancing.
They not only improved from the last time I saw them perform but they cranked up the passion, with Diell smashing the living daylights out of his drums, Dan whipping his bass and hairline like a tornado, and Ty belting all the notes he can.
This band seriously show so much potential to me, they not only give it their all every time but there is some absolute genuine talent here. Ty has a brilliant voice with some insane shredding he can do at the same time, Dan’s basslines compliment the music so well that I would love to listen to the isolated track, and Diell’s drums really bring their songs - they’re hard hitting, spaced apart in a way that is perfect for the atmosphere Bonestrider create.
Next up were Silent Confidant and what can I say about these brilliant lads that I haven’t said before? Their passion is as strong as their music which they kick in their audience’s teeth. This performance granted the singer Alex’s favourite wish in that of a mosh pit and although it only containing a handful of people, they reciprocated that energy given by the band.
This set was chock full of Ash climbing on stuff, Alex amping up the crowd and Jacob’s drum fills that could definitely be mistaken as a rhythmic machine gun. They proved to me once again that they are worthy of more acclaim, so reader, please check them out.
