A captivating new drone light show retelling A Christmas Carol, and narrated by Matt Lucas, will come to Trent Bridge Cricket Ground on December 7 and 8.
This December, the festive and futuristic collide in Notts, as the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol will be retold via animated light drones, and narrated by none other than TV royalty Matt Lucas. The show will take place on December 7 and 8 at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground.
Following hugely successful sell-out drone light shows in Bristol, Cardiff and Nottingham last winter, the team behind the Evolution drone show are reimagining the immortal story of Ebenezer Scrooge for a uplifting and family friendly occasion.
Celestial, the company behind this most spectacular of projects, are the world's first entertainment studio using drone technology to tell stories in the sky. For A Christmas Carol, they've partnered with local experiences group Yuup and Trent Bridge Stadium.
"We were blown away by the success of Yuup and Celestial's first drone light show at our home", says Joe Sharphouse, Head of Commercial Sales at Trent Bridge. "We can't wait to see how the timeless story of A Christmas Carol is re-interpreted this winter. The addition of the Matt Lucas narration is just another exciting element of this much anticipated event.”
As well as dazzling the people of Notts with their light shows, Celestial have partnered with global brands, making drone animations for heavyweights like Samsung, Eurovision, Amazon Prime Video, Greenpeace and Manchester City Football Club. They're well-and-truly the first port-of-call for anyone looking to make use of this cutting edge technology.
On the show arriving in Notts this Christmas, Celestial founder John Hopkins had this to say: “A Christmas Carol is a beloved tale that has been retold across various genres. This time, it is uniquely presented through drone art, elevating it beyond a traditional drone light show to an epic, stadium-scale experience. This innovative artistic medium brings audiences together through a shared sense of wonder to celebrate a universal story of human transformation.”
Tickets are priced at £23.00 per adult and £18.00 for children and concessions. Gates will open at 15:30, with food and drink outlets serving a variety of refreshments and a live DJ playing ahead of the show starting at 17:30.
