LeftLion was thrilled to receive an invitation to Disney on Ice: Road Trip!
As a self-proclaimed Disney enthusiast in the office, I eagerly embraced the opportunity to review the event. Naturally, we made it a family outing and brought along our youngest, Silvia, who is nearly two years old, to share in the magic.
The Disney on Ice performances ran at the Motorpoint Arena from the 14th to the 17th of November, and we attended the Saturday 2:30 PM showing. We were fortunate to have seats in one of the luxurious hospitality suites, which turned out to be an ideal setup for bringing along our lively two-year-old, Silvia.
The suite offered the perfect combination of comfort and freedom, allowing Silvia to stand and watch through the glass while enjoying plenty of room to move around if she got restless. However, the show had her completely captivated from start to finish. She was mesmerised by the dazzling performance, clapping and dancing along to all her favourite Disney songs throughout the entire production.
We were taken on a wild ride visiting the world through the rooftops of London, traveling to the sun soaked Motunui, joining a safari to the Pride Lands, and playing at a larger-than-life carnival with Woody and Forky.
This year’s Disney on Ice was more interactive than ever, with a delightful storyline featuring tour guides taking Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy on a journey to various destinations. The tour guides actively engaged the audience, snapping photos and encouraging attendees to submit their own pictures via Twitter for a chance to appear on the big screen in Mickey's scrapbook. It was a brilliant way to involve the crowd, and as a special highlight, one lucky family was even invited to enjoy a car ride around the ice!
Of course other stars joined them along their journey from Mary Poppins Returns, Moana, Frozen, The Lion King, Incredibles 2, Toy Story 4, Aladdin, and Disney Princesses.
Our favorite moment of the show was undoubtedly the mesmerizing ice dance between Aladdin and Jasmine. The skater portraying Jasmine was absolutely incredible—she was hoisted high above the audience, spinning gracefully and captivating everyone in the arena. It was a breathtaking highlight that left a lasting impression on me.
Another standout moment was watching snow gently fall from the ceiling onto the ice as Anna set out to find Elsa—a truly magical scene. The set design was equally impressive, featuring Moana's grand boat and an exhilarating sequence with motorbikes racing onto the ice alongside the cast of Toy Story. Every detail contributed to an unforgettable experience.
The singing and skating were absolutely magical, creating a truly enchanting experience that I’m sure my little girl will remember for years to come. While chatting with some of the arena staff, several shared how they fondly remembered attending Disney on Ice as children. For many, it was an annual birthday tradition, and they still cherish those special memories.
I hope my little girl treasures this experience just as much—it was such a joy to see her captivated by the magic, and I’m certain it will be a memory she holds onto forever!
Disney on Ice truly outdid themselves this year, delivering an unforgettable experience with stunningly detailed costumes and breathtaking aerial stunts performed over the ice. If you're ever considering booking tickets to a Disney on Ice show in the future, I wholeheartedly recommend it—you won’t be disappointed!
