Gary Stevenson became the youngest and most successful trader in the city. Now he shares the insider's guide to the financial world that influences all our lives.
Delving into the intimidating, often bleak world of trading and inequality economics, Gary Stevenson’s ‘The Trading Game’ provides an insightful journey through the current state of the national and global markets. Providing us with his knowledge of the market with dry humour and a down to earth approach, Gary presents us with the facts we should, but often don’t want to, hear.
Following on from the success of his book, we explore how a young working-class boy from London found himself in the world of trading- how his disadvantaged background both helped and hindered him, and how he allowed his talents to shine through and place him at the top of his game.
the raw, cutthroat reality of his experiences
Not recommended for anyone seeking a career in stocks, Gary gives us the raw, cutthroat reality of his experiences and the negative effects they had on him, how he used those experiences to try and fix our broken economy and the hard truths we need to face as the situation only continues to worsen.
After the interval, Gary faces down questions from the audience- some looking for solutions, others criticising his stance. Being an expert on the topic, Gary is easily able to explain his decision and provide practical advice, insights and predictions to equip us for the future upcoming challenges.
Overall this was a fantastically interesting talk- although not as upbeat and optimistic as other shows, it drives home its point and gives you a lot to think about long after it has finished!
Gary Stevenson: The Trading Game appeared at the Nottingham Playhouse on Monday 27th of January 2025.
