It's in Nottingham hosted it's inaugral The Duckies awards evening at St Mary's Church on Tuesday 29 April to celebrate and champion the hundreds of high street businesses who contribute to life in Nottingham City Centre...

Hundreds of Nottingham high street businesses gathered together last night at St Mary’s Church for a new awards event known as The Duckies, organised by It’s in Nottingham.
In total there were 12 categories at the awards and the winners on the night included established pillars of the city like Broadway Cinema and Nottingham Playhouse alongside new upcoming businesses such as Working Man’s Kitchen and The Grove.
The biggest winners on the night were local trainer and fitness gurus Up & Running who took away two awards; one for Health, Wellness and Beauty and another for National Retailer.
The awards evening was accompanied by musical performances curated by The Hustle Collective, including a string quartet and singer Alfie Sharp. There were also performers from the Nottingham Drag Pageant and the evening was hosted by radio presenter Mark Dennison.
The Duckies were open for entries to all eligible bricks and mortar businesses within the It’s In Nottingham area and judged by a team of experts from businesses and organisations across the city. We at LeftLion were in attendance and felt it was a great occasion to celebrate the many hard-working businesses that make up our city centre community.
