This episode we are joined by Selina Mosinski (AKA Charity Shop Sue) and Matt Chesney of Backlit Studios to talk about Selina’s new Edinburgh Fringe show Puss in Boots: a Working Class Fairytale.
We’ve got a great one for you this week - actor, internet legend and ‘queen of huns’, Selina Mosinski, who is better known by her alter-ego Sue Tuke, AKA Charity Shop Sue.
The Charity Shop Sue YouTube mini-series has gathered thousands of fans since it launched in 2019, but Selina is now back with a new character, Randy Cain. Her upcoming Edinburgh show Puss in Boots, a Working Class Fairytale tells the surreal and darkly funny story of a young woman making her way in the late 90s stripping world.
Selina is joined by Matt Chesney. Along with being founder and director of Nottingham’s BACKLIT art gallery and studios, he is one of the writers and directors behind Charity Shop Sue with studio Dead Suite TV.
We spoke about writing for the stage, bringing the Notts accent to screens across the country, third wave feminism in the 90s, and how Selina has drawn from her own personal history to create Randy's story.
This interview was conducted by LeftLion Editor Sophie Gargett in May 2026.
