Not many clubs can claim to have changed the face of clubbing in the UK, but the Boutique is one of them

One of Stealth's big name nights to sign up to monthlies is 'Boutique', brought to you by Brighton based 'the Boutique' who were until not too long ago regulars at Sheffield's Bed, until Gatecrasher pulled the plug on its struggling second club. Which is just as well as we don't have to catch the train to see them now.

Not many clubs can claim to have changed the face of clubbing, Big Beat Boutique (now just the Boutique - no pigeon holing please!) is one of them, they were influential in the rise of Brighton lad Norman Cook and his style of dance music which for a time was Big Beat House. Norman still plays for Boutique of occasion so fingers crossed we may get to see him play Notts at some point.

Boutique have some excellent residents including DJ Touché and Radio Slave plus a cast of guest DJs who regularly headline including Derrick Carter, Stanton Warriors, Fatboy Slim and the like - promising stuff.

Our man in trainers for the night Alan Platt, checked out the last night at Stealth to see what the crack was:

"DJ Touché was playing a pretty tasty eclectic mix, electro house, breaks, rock, you name it he plays it - a really good mix. Shame they closed the second room so early though (just wait till the students are back) cos he was rockin'.

1st tune was Ich und Elaine by 2Raumwohnung - last tune Justice vs Simian 'Never Be Alone' was a belter, we also remember running round the floor to Walk Idiot Walk by The Hives - sweet! Upstairs in the main room after a nice start by Dave Congreve, Derrick Carter played deep dubby dark disco house to the  crowd, 3hours of mayhem there.

The club was amazing, had a really good sound system. Loads of dark corners to hide and dance in. Even better was the fact the dark corners had bassbins in 'em, really nice layout, will def be back!"
