Bugged Out! hit the big time when they were based at Nation in Liverpool and their famed nights were packed out to the sound of techno and eclectic beats with everything from Dave Clarke to Badly Drawn Boy pulling a very full-on crowd. A few years on and they are still a cutting edge night who tour globally, alongside monthly residencies at the End in London and now Stealth in Nottingham.
Bugged Out! have a rep for techno, electro and a policy of anything goes on the music front. Saturdays serving was no exception with Matt Tolfrey the Stealth resident getting things off to a good start before Jo Jo De Freq (of NagNagNag electroclash fame) and Erol Alkan (Trash promoter) stirred things up with volley after volley of - now this is difficult to describe - 80s edged electro tech beats? Well, attempts to describe genres aside, the crowd was loving it, lots of retro fashion in evidence, easy with those sweatbands!
Downstairs German producer and DJ Justus Kohnke & M.A.N.D.Y. were providing interesting tech house with some excellent mixed VJs throughout the night. They took a well earned break to allow the band Whitey to play some live indie.
