Becki Lloyd plays reporter Max Stacey in the series.

Nottingham based film production company Coalescent Films have had a busy couple of years since their inception, with many festival appearances for numourous short films and feature film Castle Boulevard in post-production, but 2016 sees them begin work on their first TV series. Print will be three hour-long episodes about a fictional local newspaper, The Nottingham Siren, and the journalists who work on it. It will focus on Max Stacey, an online reporter, looking for a story that will finally get her into print. She is given a seemingly run-of-the-mill story about a runaway boy – but could there be more to it? And will her attempts to control the story get her into trouble?

Production began at the end of January and has a cast and crew full of Nottingham and East Midlands locals. Loughborough based actress Becki Lloyd will be playing the lead, Max. She will be supported by a large ensemble cast, with the likes of well known local actors such as Jenn Day, Simon Crudgington, Michael Muyunda, Christian Alexander, Phil Molloy, Michelle Darkin-Price, Simon Ward, and more.

It will be set and shot all around Nottingham, in the likes of the city centre, Carrington, and Basford. Creator Nick Archer, and fellow writers Daemian Greaves and Harry Wilding, hope to have created  a telly show which will be enjoyed by the Notts locals and beyond. “This is a huge project, that we are making without any financial support,” Nick explains. “But we hope to get it on one or more TV channels, local or national, and then – if popular – who knows, a second series could be in the pipeline. We have plenty of ideas and characters to produce more stories.”
