Pretty much all kids do these days is sit around on their phones or tablets messing about with the new Snapchat filters, or walking ten miles chasing Pokémons. Well, I reckon it's time for a bit of a change, one man – Ezekial Bone – is launching something a tad different that’ll get the kids off their phones and learning a thing or two about Notts. You might have seen him in the city before, knocking around as Robin Hood.

One of the educational tours he's got up his sleeve is called ‘Reading the City Trail’ and will teach the youngsters about the local history of Nottingham – legends, sayings and urban myths an'all – without watching any of those long, boring documentaries. So you’ll be able to learn some cool stuff yourself, plus it’ll give them the opportunity to learn a couple of things about the city's role as a UNESCO City of Literature, at the same time as finding their iner creativity.

If that don't convince you, then Ade has also produced the ‘Robin Hood Sherwood Forest Adventure’. For this event, the youths will get the chance to venture through Sherwood Forest Country Park with Lady Marian, meeting Little John and Friar Tuck along the way. They'll experience a shedload of stuff including original ballads and medieval life. Through this, they’ll also learn the messages behind Robin Hood when it comes to being a good person and looking after the environment.

Whichever one you decide to choose, both will “help stimulate children to open their eyes and use their imaginations,” says Ezekial. Both events will start at the September school term but just in case you miss the first few, they’re available throughout the year. These tours are also available for international groups and private parties if you wanna bring all of your mates.
