Hannah Lou Clark (Friday, 20:30, 02 Academy 3)
Exceptionally gifted singer-songwriter who knocks out gritty alt rock that simmers with a brooding energy.
Kagoule (Saturday, 19:15, 02 Academy 2)
One of our all-time faves, so we are always going to be biased, but with a whole bunch of new songs and a harder hitting sound forged by a relentless dedication to touring, there’s never been a more exciting time to catch this trio of noisy rockers.
Crosa Rosa (Saturday, 20:30, 02 Academy 3)
Follow Kagoule with these grungy weirdos to make it a Notts rock double-bill on Saturday night.
Big Deal (Sunday, 18:15, 02 Academy 2)
Led by Alice Costelloe and Kacey Underwood, the indie-rockers charmed us with their second LP June Gloom, while their Handmade set will be an early opportunity to hear songs from their soon-to-be released third, Say Yes.
USA Nails (Sunday, 19:45, Scholars Bar)
Taking in the discordant energy of punk and the non-stop rhythms of krautrock and using them to create gloriously scuzzy noisy rock of the highest order.

We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
