Harrison Armstrong, AKA Aitch, is a 22-year-old rapper who has achieved great success since blowing up through his breakthrough single Straight Rhymez in 2018 and has not only won multiple BRIT Awards but has also worked with some notable artists since then including AJ Tracey and Tion Wayne.
The 0161 rapper recently released his album Close to Home, which revealed his talent in storytelling as well as his lyrical skills and cheeky persona. The album achieved great success, achieving second in the UK top charts for four consecutive weeks. Earlier this year, he announced a tour around over fourteen cities across the UK and Ireland in October. The Manchester born and bred rapper managed to sell out Nottingham’s famous venue, Rock City.
Aitch was far from shy when it came to his stage presence. He opened with his hit song Taste (Make It Shake) which got the crowd moving. His constant interaction with the crowd was received very well by his Nottingham fanbase. From storytelling to cracking jokes, Aitch’s presence was on point.
He also played a few heartfelt tracks, including My G, which is dedicated to his younger sister and features multi-award-winning singer Ed Sheeran. He then reminisced on his upbringing and path to success alongside his fans when he performed Learning Curve.
He played more of his catchy hits throughout the night including Buss Down and his feature on Keisha & Becky. Aitch also brought a nostalgic feel when he played some of his older songs including What’s Next from his 2019 project AitcH20.
Aitch showed gratitude to his fans who have streamed his most recent album by performing 1989 and the catchy song In Disguise, which features British music artist Bakar.
The rapper finished on a high when he played his hit song Baby which made it to number one in the official UK charts when it was released. Fans were singing along graciously to the sped-up sample of Ashanti’s Baby that plays as a hook to Aitch’s song.
Aitch is set to play at a number of cities including London and Manchester, where he’ll complete his successful tour of the UK and Ireland. He is also set to take to the rest of Europe in January 2023, and there is no doubt that he’ll continue to give fans a heartfelt and enjoyable concert to remember.
