Where To Find A Copy of LeftLion Magazine and How It Is Distributed

Every month we distribute 15,000 copies of LeftLion for free in over 300 venues across the city of Nottingham and across the county of Nottinghamshire. These are delivered by our team on foot, by electric bicycle or – where strictly necessary – by car.

Our distribution venues change each month as new businesses open and others close. So unfortunately it’s not possible for us to keep a comprehensive up-to-date list of all of our distribution venues online. However, broadly speaking you can always find copies of our magazine in the following places.

Supermarkets

We currently distribute our magazines across fifteen branches of ASDA, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco supermarkets with stands in the entrances/ exits of those supermarkets. These are the big out of town supermarkets and each supermarket takes 300 or more copies each month, which means that around 4,500 copies of our magazine are picked up in these venues each month.

Libraries

Our magazines are distributed across the full network of 82 libraries in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Each library takes between 10 and 50 copies per issue, so around 1500 copies of our magazine are distributed across Nottinghamshire libraries each month.

Pubs

We have a working relationship with Nottingham-based Castle Rock Brewery and we distribute our magazines through their network of 22 pubs across the county. If there is a Castle Rock pub in your area then they stock LeftLion. Over 500 copies of our magazine are distributed through Castle Rock pubs. We also distribute over 1000 copies via various other pubs and bars in Nottinghamshire.

Leisure Centres

We distribute copies of our magazine across the network of Active Nottingham leisure centres in Bilborough, Bulwell, Bestwood, Clifton, Hyson Green and Sneinton. Each of these venues has a dedicated LeftLion stand with between 100-300 copies in each month, so around 1000 copies are distributed in these leisure centres.

Shops, pubs, bars, restaurants, take-aways, cinemas, galleries, theatres, hairdressers, launderettes, tattooists etc

Like we said at the beginning, it’s impossible to list all these at any one point as things change. But it’s in grass roots venues like these in the city and the suburbs where the other 6000-8000 copies are distributed. Some only take five copies. Half a dozen of them take 300.

Direct mail

A comparatively small area for us, but around 100 copies of our magazine are sent by direct mail each month to people who pay for the privilege of having a copy posted to them (via Patreon).

Wherever you live in Nottinghamshire you should be able to get hold of a copy of LeftLion within a short walk from your house. Our distribution covers every residential postcode area of the county – although obviously some areas are more stocked than others.
