We Chat With the Sister Duo Behind Sneinton’s Boulangerie de Saigon
Fri 18 Aug 2023Last month, we underwent a gruelling ten-second trek from the office to visit our neighbours in the newly opened Boulangerie de Saigon, a small Vietnamese eatery in the hustle and bustle of Sneinton Avenues. After being hooked on the egg coffee (more on that later), we returned to try one of the most delicious Vietnamese sandwiches to grace Nottingham - oh, and to have a chat with sisters Aivi and Milly Nguyen - both from St Ann’s, who opened the boulangerie (bakery) in April…

We Speak to the Owners of Happy Sunday Vintage Shop About Their New Venture
Mon 14 Aug 2023A stunning new glass-fronted beauty has opened its door on Nottingham’s Derby Road. The arrival of the eye-catching vintage emporium Happy Sunday Vintage is another addition to the exciting independents in the area including Little Brickhouse, Little Plant Guys, the Danish Homestore and The Lime Gallery, to name a few. After staying vacant for many years, the iconic building (which many around the city will recognise as the old Ben Bowers restaurant) has been transformed into a technicolour, rummagers’ dream of vintage clothing, rare antique finds, one-of-a-kind mid-century furniture and homeware. Addie Kenogbon caught up with Happy Sunday co-owners, Bryony Selway and Mihnea Georgescu, and their ‘pawsernal’ assistant, Stevie the dog, to find out more about their new venture.

Food Review: Boulangerie de Saigon
Mon 24 Jul 2023In true Gen-Z style, I have an issue with buying too many coffees. Good day, bad day, boring day: It’s always the perfect time for a coffee. And, while this habit isn’t great for my finances, it is good for my happiness. Which, of course, is why I was so excited to see Boulangerie de Saigon open ten seconds away from the LeftLion office. Plus, why I dragged our Editor along to try it, mere days after the business had opened...
