Anteloup are playing live in Beeston Square, opening Broxtowe Borough Council's Friday18 series of live music.
While the origins of the name Anteloup may lie shrouded in mystery, this Nottingham-based 5-piece know a thing or two about catchy melodies, expertly weaving summery sounds, snappy lyrics and brooding anthems, with a few prog wig-outs thrown in for good measure.
They are unapologetically eclectic in their music tastes and this comes through in their songwriting, with tinges of synth-pop, soul, folk rock, indie and ska. Think Squeeze or 10cc with (slightly) less grey hair.
With exceptionally well-received gigs at legendary venues in Nottingham, they really know how to get the crowd moving with their irresistible musical wares.
