Family Film Club: the Secret Garden

Based on the classic children’s book by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Agnieszka Holland’s critically-acclaimed adaptation was filmed on location at Allerton Castle, against the backdrop of the ominously beautiful Yorkshire Moors. The film tells the story of orphan Mary Lennox, sent from her home in British India to live in her uncle’s mansion in England, where she discovers a secret walled garden in the grounds of the house.
