Loosely based on Bram Stoker’s novel and shot with director Ken Russell’s trademark surreal style, The Lair of the White Worm mixes psychosexual and religious imagery with a 1970s British horror feel. It’s got a giant monster, snake people, ancient buried evil, baby-faced Hugh Grant and Peter Capaldi, and its slithering tongue firmly in its cheek. A film full of pure, indulgent, horrifying excess.
Screening as part of Something Wild, a season celebrating cinematic chaos and excess.
This is a rescheduled screening, due to our temporary closure in July following a power outage.
