Variety follows Christine, a ticket-seller in a New York porn theatre who gradually forms a fascination with the films playing and the clientele visiting. A pioneering work of American independent cinema, the film tells a story of obsession and female awakening, backed by a small galaxy of talent, including music by John Lurie (Down By Law) and featuring photographer Nan Goldin (seen most recently in All the Beauty and the Bloodshed).
Presented with new film club Squalid Overboogie, who will introduce the film.
Tickets are 3-for-2 when booking with Kamikaze Hearts on Thu 7 Sep and Midnight Cowboy on Sun 17 Sep.
Presented as part of Cinema Rediscovered on Tour, a Watershed project. With support from BFI awarding funds from The National Lottery and MUBI.
