Want to make art but don’t know where to start? Got an idea for something you’d like to do, say or be in front of an audience, or maybe you don’t and want to find something? Already got a show but don’t know how to find your audience?
Join Lee & Laurie for a 4 week course, which will get you on your feet, find your ‘something to say’, build a short piece of performance art or theatre around it and present it in front of an audience. We’ll be pulling exercises and ideas from theatre, clown and improv comedy, always with an eye on learning by doing, building on your unique strengths, and how to work practically to make theatre, comedy and art in the fringes.
We’ll be in the beautiful wood-working shop and community hub, We Make Our Way, on 4 Tuesday evenings in September and October, playing games, working through exercises, making, trying, building and discarding things in a warm, creative, caring environment. On the last week we’ll put on a show for friends and family, showing off what we’ve made
About Us
Lee and Laurie are two theatre makers, clowns, improvisers, artists and facilitators (not necessarily in that order), who also have full time jobs doing something else. We’ve been making theatre, comedy and art around Nottingham for the last 10 years, most proudly with Club Wormhole & Robin Hood International Improv Festival, in our spare time, in traditional theatre spaces and in the fringes
