Our last Book Group of the year… The book might take forty minutes to read (it’s a neat, short hardback – a short story really) but can we fill an hour and a half with stimulating discussion on this small book. Betcha we can.
After an uneventful Friday at the Dublin office, Cathal faces into the long weekend and takes the bus home. There, his mind agitates over a woman named Sabine with whom he could have spent his life, had he acted differently. All evening, with only the television and a bottle of champagne for company, thoughts of this woman and others intrude – and the significance of this particular date is revealed.
Our fiction book group is open to all. Attend every meeting, occasionally or just once a lifetime. All we ask is that you read the book in advance and take part in the discussion. There’s a short introduction by a member of staff or a group regular or someone we know with a special interest in the book in question.
Free, refreshments provided. We don’t mind where you source the book – libraries are good! – be we offer 15% discount on book group titles.
